Soithichean a' tighinn! (Ships Coming!)'
It was such a pleasure to do this digital painting for the Clan Macleod Magazine (May 2026). I had allot of fun bringing this scene to life.
Soithichean a' tighinn! (Ships Coming!)' is a historical illustration that depicts a beacon that was to aid ship navigation on the Isle of Lewis (Scotland) in the 13th Century. Likely at Trumpian head.
It’s a stormy night, waves break on the rocks and One clanslman has spotted approaching ships. Are they friend or foe? Two other clans people feed the beacon with peat bricks of dried soil.
